5 home office tips

5 home office tips
With more of us working from home more than ever, here are 5 tips to make working from home more enjoyable and productive.
1. Plants & Inspiration
Plants are known to decrease stress levels, so add plants to create a calming atmosphere. Add artwork and objects which inspire you as well as a proper work lamp with an adjustable head if you’re working in low light. A lamp with dimming, like this one from Anglepoise, can also really help create the right mood.
2. Natural Light
If you can, place your workstation next to a window to take advantage of natural light and fresh air, it will boost your productivity and make you feel more alert. Your going to want to make the most of the nice weather with summer fast approaching.
3. Correct your posture
Make sure you have a proper working chair and refrain from using a dining chair, this may lead to poor posture and back problems down the line. Standing desks are also a great way to keep your legs and back active, standing whilst working encourages circulation as well as improved energy levels. Your setup should align your eyes to the top of your screen and to avoid ''mouse arm'' make sure your forearms are supported when using a mouse and keyboard.
4. Get Out!
Make sure you take regular breaks by going for a walk outside. Or just take a short  walk to the kitchen regularly if that’s all you have time for. Stretching and standing also helps (did we mention standing desks?)
5. Keep it tidy
Manage those cables, papers and little things that add up over time. The easiest solution is to make sure you have enough space to work, if you can try to use a large desk, but where space is limited even a small one can stay tidy using cable tidies storage trays, monitor stands etc... you can get some great ones from Amazon, a pedestal to file any paperwork and stationary you may have is also a good idea.
